MODULE 1 Chapter 2 Use of Sketchbook



1.  Background of torn mulberry paper drawn and printed with shapes taken from drawing of gate at Urchfont


2.  Torn strips of painted tissue with cut out shapes, stencilled and printed.


3.  Curved shapes taken from gate (Urchfont) and stencilled onto colour washed page.

4.  Torn newspapers property pages, glued with gel medium,  a light acrylic wash over top, rubbed with metallic rub-ons to highlight texture, then drawn into and over printed.


5.  Drawn shape from a wrought iron gateway on page coloured with a teabag!  Shape coloured using watersoluble crayons


6.  Monoprinted shape from a gateway rubbed with oil pasted and overpainted


7.  Positive and negative card shapes from doorways covered with tissue paper painted and rubbed with treasure wax.


8.  Disused church doorway drawn, painted, stencilled and stuck to next page with door cut out showing part motif



9.  Shapes from an Indian motif  cut from photograph and collaged on to washed background



10.  Small oblongs of paper with graphite and oil pastel


11. Cut and torn strips of paper over painted to resemble peeling paint on a wall




12. Background washed with Koh i Noor paint over printed with a cut piece of card to resemble bricks
